Referendum Insights Conference Series 2016 - Oxford edition

This unique international long-running technology event series since 2002 has provided an excellent forum for trading, partnering, developing and learning about world-changing innovations and change for industry.

Businesses will be affected by the referendum decision of individual voters across the UK. This is a short-timeframe and there has been frustration among executives and the public about lack of information.

This event series will provide a large number of shared experiences among tech international business peers and summaries of these to participants. Leading C-level executives, VPs and managers of start-up, SME, scale-up and large companies come together to discuss this issue and also to network.

We hope to field a full spectrum of short and long term views and issues and perspectives from speaking delegates, who collectively will have spotted structural and particular issues for employment, products, standards, regulations, currency, trading and relationships with EU and other organisations. The typical company would like to have in place a strategy and plan that switches quickly according to either a Remain or a Leave decision by the electorate on 23 June.

The Conference has a unique and timely programme. Up to 20 talks are offered neutrally, on a first-come first-served basis to technology product or services based company executives.

5-8 minute talk format suggested:

  • My company and offering in a word
  • Our experiences of trade in EU and/or outside it
  • Our view and reasoning (optional)
  • Question/s we still have - fact/s and risks we want checked
  • Closing remarks

There follows an anonymous informal vote among delegates during the afternoon coffee break and a final open panel discussion on the result and issues. It is an ideal and timely programme! A summary of the referendum forum talks will be produced and sent by priority to delegates. Samples of the experiences of delegates at each regional event across the UK will also be collated in advance of the referendum on 23 June for all business and technology delegates.

The organisers are politically independent in this process and will be impartial in relating topics in summary.
